I’ve never done yoga before, what do I need to know?
Here are some yoga etiquette tips:
Arrive 10 minutes early for your first class.
Wear comfy clothing-leggings, loose pants, or shorts with a tank top or t-shirt…anything you can move comfortably in
Bring a yoga mat (if you don't have one, you can use one of ours) and a water bottle
Take off your shoes by the door, yoga is done barefoot (or in socks if that’s your jam)
Silence your cell phone
I don’t have a mat, do you have any at the studio?
We have studio mats for use free of charge. We encourage regularly attending students to eventually purchase their own mats as they will be a higher quality and more comfortable.
Do you have any Specials for Newcomers?
We have a New Client Special that is $30 for your first 3 weeks at the studio. Click below to sign up!
How old do you need to be to attend?
The minimum age for attendance is 16 with a waiver signed by a guardian. This is to maintain the comfort for all class attendees. However, exceptions will be considered and approved by management on a case to case basis.
I’m not flexible, what if I can’t do the poses?
Yoga MAKES YOU more flexible, that’s one of the many awesome things about it…you will see a change in how your body feels and what it is able to do. Everyone starts yoga at a different place, that’s the beauty of it. Yoga constantly challenges you, whether you’ve been doing in for 10 days or 10 years..you’re always learning and growing. There is always a pose that even the most experienced yoga student is still working toward, so we modify poses and make them accessible to everyone in the class. Your instructor will show you variations for different poses that you might not be ready for yet.
How often should I go to yoga?
There’s no such thing as too much yoga…seriously. But if you have a crazy hectic life, we recommend getting on a schedule and sticking to it. Find a regular time that works for you to come every week and then make that a priority. Maybe that is twice a week at 5:30am or 7pm. Maybe that’s every day and you can schedule classes in that work for you. The most important thing is to be consistent and make your practice a priority. Often times when the craziness of life consumes us, the first thing we neglect is self-care. Set your schedule and give your mind and body time to breathe away from the chaos.
I forgot to sign up, Can I just drop in?
We encourage signing up prior to class as smaller classes like Restorative Yoga sometimes fill up. However we can usually find a spot for you, so you can always drop in and we’ll try our best to fit you into the class.
I was put on the wait list for a full class, Now what?
If you’re put on the Wait List but don’t make it into the class you have 3 different options. The class stays on your account so option 1 is to sign up future date for the same class and the class gets automatically applied to it. Option 2 is to email me and request the credit be applied to a different class of the same cost or option 3 is to email us and request a refund.
