Mala Making Workshop and Charity Supplies Drive

  • Downtown Yoga Fargo 216 Broadway N, Ste 204 Fargo United States (map)

Malas are a tool that are commonly used for reciting mantras, or japa. They are considered a sacred implement and are used in many philosophical organizations. They traditionally have 108 beads and can be found in a variety of materials. Together during this workshop, we will talk about malas, their history and how to use them, as well as take some time to make our own.

Attendees have the option to order specific supplies to make their mala outside of the ‘base option’ of wooden or plastic beads and yarn. Below you will find an order form to select your materials if you would like to have specific supplies.

If you are interested in ordering materials for the workshop outside of the ‘base option’ please fill out this form by January 16.

This workshop is part of a Karma Yoga project, which is a project that aims to offer education and/or resources to those who would otherwise not have access. The charity of focus for this project is the YWCA.

There is no cost to this workshop, instead attendees are asked to bring a donation for the local charity, such as socks, deodorant, phone chargers of any kind, cleaning supplies, etc. The local shelter has a list of urgent needs on their website which you can find here:
