Full Moon Ceremony

Full Moon Ceremony

Purnima, or the full moon, is a sacred time to re-align with the cosmic rhythm. It’s a time to go into yourself and allow the luminosity of the moon to reveal Truth in your being. The moon controls the manas, or the mind, so when we reach the full moon point in the cycle, our minds are more open and receptive. We allow this innate sense of receptivity to expand our awareness and illuminate areas in our lives where we can release and where we can cultivate.

What to expect:

Each ceremony will include different practices, but below are some of what you might experience.

Intention setting, journaling, meditation, asana, chanting mantra, conversation, tea or cacao, creative project, and more.

Paper and pen will be provided at every gathering, but please feel free to bring your own. We will also be creating and alter, so please bring a small, meaningful item to add to the sacred space that we will sit around in ceremony.

**Full Moon and New Moon gatherings are included in class packages and memberships; $15 drop in rate applies for non-members

Along with the meditation and asanas of yoga, there are many ways to cultivate mindfulness in daily life, and one of those is wheel throwing! In order to create a ceramics piece that has integrity, strength, and balance, you must be centered and aware of the present, not lost in distractions or rush. Monthly Yoga Nidra
Sep
8
3:30 PM15:30

Monthly Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a practice of letting go of tension in the body and the mind and resetting the nervous system. This "yogic sleep" is an effortless meditation that is typically practiced lying down and is an accessible meditation for most people because of the completely supportive nature for the body, resulting in a deeply relaxing and restorative experience. You'll be shown other positions that may allow you to experience comfort and surrender more easily if lying down is not right for you, for any reason. The use of pillows, bolsters, blankets, and an eye pillow or light scarf across the eyes are wonderful ways to assist yourself in experiencing supreme comfort during this practice. Once the body does not feel the need to hold and support itself, there is potential to move into more subtle layers of the self to allow for a deep state of rest and promote healing. You will be guided throughout the practice and no experience with yoga or meditation practices is necessary. A great way to diffuse stress and recharge for the week ahead!

**The studio does offer blankets and bolsters, and eye pillows. Please dress in layers (don't forget the socks) as your body temperature will drop as you relax into the practice.

**This class is included in memberships and class packages. $15 drop in rate applies

Spring Cleaning Workshop

Spring Cleaning Workshop

Join David for a buoyant and alchemizing class where we’ll dive into the essence of Spring, harnessing its energy to cultivate renewal, growth, and joy within ourselves. Drawing inspiration from Katonah Yogaⓒ theory, we’ll explore the metaphor of the body as a house made up of 3 floors, 9 rooms, and 10 doors.

First, we’ll lay out the blueprint and groundwork for our time together. Then we’ll transition into a seated breathwork and meditation practice, integrating the insights gained as we map this metaphor onto the dimensional landscape that is our body.

If the body is our personal abode, consider this spring cleaning - sweeping through each room, dusting out the corners, rearranging the furniture, and creating space for new possibilities and expanded vision both on and off the mat.

This workshop welcomes practitioners of all levels, inviting you to engage in self-inquiry that will spark your imagination and unlock new dimensions within your personal practice.

Hatha & Meditation Class with Guest Teacher: Greg Hines

Meet Your Guest Teacher:

Greg Hines is an experienced yoga educator with 15 years of teaching under the guidance of mentors in MN, NY and MD. In 2021, he completed his M.S. in Yoga Therapy from the Maryland Institute of Integrative Health. Postural alignment, mindfulness practice, energetic anatomy and theoretical frameworks for human health inform his therapeutic techniques and tools. Greg’s approach explores the intersections of Indian yoga philosophy, sacred geometry, five-element frameworks from Eastern healing traditions and an expanding catalog of yoga therapy research.

SUM + BODY Workshop on Saturday, November 18th, will be held at Yuj here in Fargo. Learn more below:

Life is all about how things add up.

The form and function of your body is the summation of your daily habits and techniques. Just as ballerinas expressively dance, sailors tie knots, and cooks finely chop, each of us engage in unique practices that take shape in our lives and bodies.

It’s in how you choose to use your time and inhabit your body that constructs character; makes you SOMEBODY!

In this 3-hour workshop, Greg and David will sequence Katonah Yoga theory with interactive yoga breaks; moments to observe and consider how our personal math might be different from someone else’s.

We’ll combine well-informed adjustments and prop-supported poses to help quantify our approach like a protractor or calculator aids the mathematician. Illuminating unexamined yoga habits and unrealized potential, participants will come to appreciate their practice reveals a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Full Moon Ceremony

Purnima, or the full moon, is a sacred time to re-align with the cosmic rhythm, and this month, connect with the feminine divine.
