Yoga for Menopause

  • Downtown Yoga Fargo 216 Broadway N, Ste 204 Fargo (map)

Menopause is not official until you’ve missed your period for over 12 months, however perimenopause can start as early as 40 and the symptoms of it may last for years for some women! These include the ever talked about hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, mood changes and other body shifts. Join us for a 45 minute restorative yoga session followed by a discussion lead by Dr. Terra on alternative ways to manage menopause symptoms and for some women to eliminate them completely or to the point of not disrupting daily life.

Yoga can help calm your mind during these times of change to control feelings of being overwhelmed and overly emotional. Restorative yoga puts the body in a relaxed parasympathetic mode to balance the nervous system so you can stay calm and collected. This relaxed state is meant to build strength and increase circulation, without overheating the body thus contributing to the uncomfortable hot flashes.

Following the yoga session, Dr. Terra will discuss alternative therapies such as herbs, nutrition and supplement recommendations complement the external changes you can make to make “the change” smoothly.

Dr. Terra, a naturopathic doctor focusing on fertility and hormone balance for women here in the Fargo area will be discussing all of these issues as well as answering any questions you may have on the topic.

We'll be starting with a 45 minute yoga session followed by 30-40 minutes of learning, discussion, and Q&A. This is a women's only class.

**INCLUDED in all memberships, drop-in for non-package holders is $20
